Equipping you with knowledge and confidence to make the decisions that are right for you, your child, and your family.
Wondering where to start with weaning? Why your adventurous eater is now a fussy toddler? Why your baby doesn’t sleep like the books say they should? Or why everyone talks about the benefits of breastfeeding but most people seem to end up bottle feeding?
Baby Bright Start offer workshops covering the developmental and nutritional needs of a child at key stages of pregnancy, infancy and the toddler years. These will be running at two locations in Gloucestershire from September 2017.
Our workshops aim to be practical, informal and non-judgemental, whilst providing an awful lot of information squeezed into 90 minutes! We keep our group sizes small so you can ask all the questions you need. We really encourage dads, grandparents and anyone else likely to be involved in feeding or caring for your baby to come along too, as consistency is a magical word when it comes to baby care.
Our handouts will ensure you go away with all the information you could possibly need for the stage your baby is at (you may never need to buy a baby book again!) and our goody bags are full of very cute and useful accessories and resources to help you put the theory into practice.
- Talk you through the latest evidence and advice
- Look at how this advice could work for you and your family
- Support you in gaining confidence in your own abilities to help your little one become the healthy and happy person you wish them to be
You will come away with:
- New ideas, skills and approaches for feeding yourself and your baby
- A better understanding of your babies emotional and nutritional needs for the stage they are currently at
- Some useful handouts to help you remember the factual stuff (because we realise that you might not be getting much sleep right now!)
Our workshops aim to complement the information you already receive from your healthcare team. We look to fill the gaps that we found when we were parenting small children ourselves and/or the stuff we’d love to spend lots of time discussing with you about but don’t always get the opportunity to in our NHS lives.
Further information and dates for all of our courses are available on the events calendar on our facebook page. If you have any queries about any of our courses, or ideas for future courses you would like to see BBS offering, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Please be aware that these workshops are designed to complement rather than replace your usual package of care from your maternity and post-natal healthcare team. You must not rely on the information in these workshops as an alternative to medical advice from your doctor or other professional healthcare provider. If you have any specific questions about any medical matter or you think you or your child may be suffering from any medical condition you should consult your doctor or other professional healthcare provider.
